Once you say go, we draft, fund and finalize your plan so it actually works when your family needs it.
Common questions
A will directs how your assets are distributed after death and names guardians for minor children. A living trust can manage your assets during your lifetime and, once properly funded, avoids the probate process entirely. Many Kentucky families use both together.
The court distributes your assets according to Kentucky's intestacy law, not your wishes, and the court — not you — selects who administers your estate. A will lets you choose both.
A last will directs how your property is distributed after you die. A living will addresses medical treatment decisions while you're alive but unable to communicate them yourself. Most people benefit from having both.
A trust only avoids probate for assets that are actually retitled into it. That step is called funding, and it's the part most people miss when they try to do this on their own — an unfunded trust still has to go through the probate court it was meant to avoid. We make sure every trust we draft is properly funded before we consider the work done.
As soon as you acquire assets, have children, or want to say clearly who makes decisions for you if you can't. There's no minimum age or net worth — a will matters the moment you have anyone depending on you.
Yes. Kentucky has specific execution and witnessing requirements, and a will drafted without them can be challenged or thrown out entirely. An attorney makes sure your will meets those requirements and actually holds up.
